My name is Rynlee Harper, I’m 42 years old, and I decided to try a GLP-1 weight-loss program because I wanted to take a different approach to managing my weight. Like many people, I expected the process to be simple: place my order, receive the medication I selected, and have customer support available if I needed help.

Unfortunately, my experience with Embody was very different from what I expected.

When I placed my order, I believed I was purchasing a specific GLP-1 medication. I trusted that the medication I received would match what I had ordered. Instead, when my order arrived, I found that what I received did not match what I had expected or ordered.

Receiving something different when it comes to medication is not like receiving the wrong shirt or a different item from an online store. I was immediately concerned and wanted answers before doing anything with the medication.

Poor Customer Service

My next step was to contact Embody’s customer service. I expected someone to look into the issue, explain what had happened, and help me get the correct medication.

Instead, I found the customer-service experience extremely frustrating.

I had to repeatedly follow up and spend a significant amount of time trying to get someone to address my concerns. What should have been a straightforward issue turned into a long process.

I kept contacting the company because I simply wanted the medication I had ordered and an explanation for what had happened.

After approximately a month of waiting and repeated follow-ups, I finally received my GLP-1 medication.

At that point, I thought the problem was finally resolved.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t.

The Medication Arrived Damaged

When I received the medication, I discovered another serious problem: the bottle was broken.

After waiting for weeks to receive my medication, having it arrive damaged was incredibly disappointing. I had already spent so much time trying to resolve the original order issue, and now I had another problem to deal with.

At that point, I no longer felt comfortable proceeding with the medication. I contacted Embody again and requested a refund.

I thought that, after everything I had already experienced, getting a refund would at least provide a simple way to close the situation.

But once again, I found myself waiting.

Another Long Wait

After requesting my refund, I continued following up. I expected the issue to be resolved within a reasonable amount of time, but according to my experience, I continued waiting and following up for another month without receiving the resolution I was expecting.

This was extremely frustrating.

By this point, my experience had gone from receiving the wrong medication, to spending weeks trying to get customer support, to finally receiving my medication only to discover that the bottle was broken and then spending even more time trying to obtain a refund.

What bothered me most was the amount of effort I had to put into getting basic answers.

What I Expected From an Online GLP-1 Provider

When someone purchases prescription medication through an online healthcare provider, I believe there should be clear communication throughout the process.

Embody’s website describes its service as providing clinician-guided treatment, medication shipped directly to patients, and ongoing support. It also states that patients can access their care team around the clock for questions and concerns. (Embody)

My experience did not feel that way.

I expected the medication I ordered to arrive correctly. If there was an issue, I expected customer service to respond quickly and help resolve it. When the medication eventually arrived damaged, I expected the refund process to be handled promptly.

Instead, I felt like I had to keep chasing the company for answers.

My Advice to Other Customers

I’m sharing my experience because I think people considering an online GLP-1 program should know that the experience may not always go as smoothly as expected.

Before ordering, make sure you understand exactly what medication and treatment plan you are purchasing. When your medication arrives, carefully check the packaging and the product before using it.

If something is wrong, document everything. Take pictures of damaged packaging or medication, keep your order confirmation, save emails and messages, and keep records of every conversation with customer service.

Most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask questions if something doesn’t look right.

Embody states on its website that it works with pharmacy partners to fulfill compounded medications and that patients may receive medication that looks different from what is shown online. It also notes that compounded medications have not been evaluated or approved by the FDA for safety, efficacy, or quality. (Embody)

I started this process hoping that getting GLP-1 medication through an online provider would make treatment easier and more convenient.

My Final Thoughts

Instead, my experience was stressful and time-consuming.

I dealt with an order that did not match what I expected, weeks of follow-ups with customer service, a long wait before receiving my medication, and then a broken bottle when the medication finally arrived. After requesting a refund, I experienced another lengthy wait and continued having to follow up.

For me, this was not the experience I expected when I decided to try Embody.

I believe customers deserve clear communication, accurate orders, properly handled medication, and timely assistance when something goes wrong.

This is my personal experience with Embody, and I hope sharing it helps other people make an informed decision before purchasing a GLP-1 program online.
